About Children's Minnesota
Children's Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children's serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, 12 primary and specialty care clinics and six rehabilitation sites. The Midwest Children's Resource Center provides medical diagnosis, psychological assessment, and treatment for children and their families affected by physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. In addition, they are available for telephone consultation 24/7 for child protection, law enforcement agencies, physicians, therapists, attorneys, and concerned parent. They offer training, internships, and fellowhips for physicians, advanced practice nurses, and professionals interested in expanding their knowledge and skill in medical evaluation, interviewing children, psychological assessment, and treating abused children.
The MCRC Child and Family Advocate works closely with MCRC MDs, NPs, Psychologists and RNs to provide a variety of clinical and advocacy services and interventions for victims of child maltreatment and their families at the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). Interacts with professionals from other disciplines and agencies involved in the multidisciplinary response to child maltreatment and/or the provision of services to victims and families to promote optimal outcomes related to health, welfare and justice.
Bachelor level degree.
*Education with courses about child development, family dynamics/family health, advocacy or other related fields preferred.
*Basic computer skills preferred.
