The purpose of your role as a Cost Accounting Analyst

As a Cost Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate, complete and timely job cost and inventory to support the financial statements.
Perform accurate setup, maintenance, and inactivation of jobs, phases, cost codes, budgets, contracts, service calls, etc. Ensure contract, change orders, and exemption certificates documents exist and are saved in the master folders. Review contracts to ensure correct tax status and proper wording is included in the contract.Analyze material, labor, or other expenses to determine productivity, margin, and other project-related data. Capture and classify cost data to determine accurate costs associated with projects. Analyze job cost changes and the related impact on margin.Assist Project and accounting teams with timely work order/ job setup and job updates for month end close and PM reviews, etc. Prepare required reports and graphs. Monitor unallocated labor on jobs and work with PM's to correct.Perform daily / monthly accounting duties including trouble shooting of differences and errors through data mining, detail analysis and research. Prepare journal entries to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and in compliance with GAAP to ensure accurate financial records.Collaborate with project teams to accurately prepare, adjust and verify pre-bill documents before invoicing. Prepare timely and accurate AIA progress and other billings and enter data accurately into systems and jobs.Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers, as well as other members of the Accounting team, to answer invoicing questions or manage related issues.Assist with contract preparation, review and pre-qualifications and change orders.Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues. Act as an escalation point for internal and external customers.Preparation of conditional and unconditional waivers, when required.Assist with special projects, billing / collection research and ad hoc analysis as needed.
What we're looking for in you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related, or 5+ years of experience Accounting experience with general ledger, accounts payable, cost accounting, payroll, and inventory in a service or construction environmentExperience with accounting and financial reporting systems (WennSoft, Great Plains preferred)Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP and Accounting practicesAdvanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP's and pivot tables)

Pay Range: $52,702 - $79,054 per year

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
